Después, a la salida de la estación Sagrada Família se habilitará un servicio especial de autobús gratuito hasta la plaza de Catalunya. Venta de entradas: las puedes comprar a partir del día 10 de abril en el Punto TMB Universitat. El precio de la actividad es de 5 euros. Plazas limitadas. Un poco de historia El 30 de diciembre de 1924, se inauguró el primer tramo de la línea del Gran Metro de Barcelona entre Lesseps y Catalunya (con un trazado de 2.470 metros). Esta primera línea del metro de Barcelona fue la precursora de la actual L3. En febrero de 1973, estos trenes -llamados serie 300- comenzaron a funcionar también en la línea 4, construida a partir del antiguo ramal de Correos del Gran Metro. Los trenes de la serie 300 estuvieron en funcionamiento durante más de 60 años, hasta finales de 1987, cuando se retiraron del servicio comercial. Características Los diez trenes originales de Gran Metro, de dos coches cada uno, fueron construidos por la Compañía Euskalduna de Construcción y Reparación de Buques, SA, de Bilbao, entre 1920 y 1923. Cada coche tenía capacidad para 168 plazas. Como tracción, disponía de cuatro motores tipo General Electric 259, con una potencia de 125 CV. En 1949, para celebrar el 25 aniversario del metro de Barcelona, se estrenó el primer alumbrado fluorescente en el interior de los trenes. En 1956, a raíz de la fusión del Gran Metro con el Transversal, esos trenes se cambiaron de color, y se sustituyó el negro y el granate por el azul y el crema. Se instalaron asientos individuales y se cambió el escudo redondo original del Gran Metro por el logotipo romboidal. Restauración Para celebrar la conmemoración de los 75 años del metro de Barcelona, en febrero de 1999, se recuperaron tres coches de esta serie: los llamados M1 – M6 – M8, según la numeración original. Se restauraron y se recuperó el color original de 1924. Actualmente se conservan en las cocheras del Triángulo Ferroviario y se han convertido en valiosísimos integrantes de la colección histórica de TMB. Este año, para celebrar el 90 aniversario del metro, hemos previsto organizar varias actividades, entre las que se encuentra la salida nocturna del tren histórico, con un carácter conmemorativo.
